Possible Cause

By far the most common cause of thisB2828code is from worn or defective transmission shifter components. Other causes may include a defective range sensor, open, shorted, corroded, or otherwise damaged wiring and/or electrical connectors.

Common Symptoms

  1. Always retest the system to ensure a successful repair. If all system circuits are intact connect the scanner to the diagnostic connector and attempt to manually activate the electronic pressure control solenoid
  2. A suitable OBD-II scanner (or code reader) and a digital volt/ohmmeter will be most helpful in performing a successful diagnosis
  3. If the initial resistance is within specifications, leave the leads of the digital volt/ohmmeter connected and heat the resistor with a heat gun
  4. Check local, state, and federal laws before removing emission related components.

B2828 Troubleshooting

When you put your foot down on the brakes you expect your car to quietly slow down and come to a stop. The power your foot applies on the brake pedal is assisted by hydraulic pressure. Your foot's force engages a piston and caliper with brake pads attached (bonded abrasive and heat resistance metal or ceramic) to put pressure on the rotor. B2828 OBD2 reports a sensor fault, replacement of the sensor is unlikely to resolve the underlying problem. The fault is most likely to be caused by the systems that the sensor is monitoring, but might even be caused by the wiring to the sensor itself.

How to turn off B2828 check engine light ?

There are two ways to turn off the check engine light:

A repair technician can do so once repairs have been made.
The OBD II can automatically turn it off when it fails to detect the problem after several diagnostic cycles.
